Framing

Dimension lumber and plywood. Most of the wood I used for framing was used, that I got from a home demolition. It cost about 2/3 retail and was much better quality - thicker and naturally aged.

Plumbing

I taught myself how to solder pipe when the downstairs tenant in the duplex I lived at the time fucked up my water heater. The secret to a good connection is clean pipe and plenty of flux. Plastic pipe is even easier, just glue it together.

Wiring

I have been playing with electricity since I was seven years old. It's probably the most enjoyable part of the project for me. I like it because it's straightforward and the results are easy to see.
